About

I am a full time student at Eastern Kentucky University and my major is BSW Social Work. I am involved in organizations such as Dr. Rodney Gross Scholars, Student Alumni Ambassadors, and Freshman Academy. I volunteer for the community and have the opportunity to help the community to become better. I believe that diversity is important within the environment and my career. I am a religious student that believes in what I think is important to the community. I plan to enhance my education by successfully challenging myself. Also, I plan to use my Social Work skills to help others succeed in life.

Honors and awards

  • Dr. Rodney Gross Minority Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students who want to pursue a first undergraduate or graduate degree. Diversity is known to be the most important aspect within the program. Students can have the chance to communicate with faculty and set goals.

  • dean's list (1st)

This award is given to students that score above a 3.0 GPA and completed a number of hours within a program. Students who get this award have to achieve it three times in order to receive a bigger award from it.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I want to be a Social Worker within the medical field. I want to help counsel the elderly and help babies from a Social Workers point of view. As I complete college, I want to help children and counsel families within the hospitals.

Graduate school interests

I plan to go to Grad School for Social Work. I really want to get my Masters instead of having a Baccalaureate for Social Work. I am debating on going to University of Kentucky or University of Louisville for Grad School.

Outside the classroom

I love to read either to myself or to someone else. I can read any book and it can be interesting to me. I enjoy reading to kids, elderly, etc. While in the nursing home, I read to the elderly from time to time. I love to sing and dance to any song that comes to mind. I sing for the church, talent shows, and for entertainment. I dance for the enjoyment of myself. Finally, I love helping others than to help myself. I work/volunteer for Student Alumni Ambassadors and help the community become better. I enjoy helping the community and giving advice to my peers about college or life matters.
