About

I have worked in the mental health field for the past 15 years, however I never pursued my license in Virginia. My master's degree is more than 10 years old, so my coursework is outdated. I am now in an educational program to meet the requirements for LPC status. Because I have already completed the coursework before, all my courses are a repeat for me.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am pursuing LPC status in Virginia. I have extensive education and training in trauma and intend to focus on this area of counseling. My certifications and trainings include treating PTSD with mild TBI, TF-CBT, hypnosis, Emotional freedom techniques, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and much more. I am also a certified HeartMath practitioner.

Graduate school interests

I am interested in the diversity, inclusion, and equity movement. It's important to guide the mental health field in the direction of fairness and social justice for both counselors and clients.

Outside the classroom

I love skydiving, and I am also learning to fly small aircraft. I also love learning. Trauma is my passion, and I have extensive training in trauma-focused treatment modalities.
