About

My name is Dejah Taylor, and I am a 17-year-old senior at Warren Mott High School. Throughout my academic journey, I have challenged myself to excel in both coursework and extracurricular activities, preparing for a future career in healthcare. With a current GPA of 4.35 and an SAT score of 1080, I am ranked in the top 25th percentile of my class, holding 80th place out of 317 students. My academic performance was recognized by Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Education for my exceptional scores on the NWEA Assessment, an honor that reflects my commitment to learning and achievement.

In addition to academics, I am actively involved in programs and organizations that strengthen my leadership, teamwork, and service skills. I participate in the Ecology Club, where I explore environmental issues and contribute to projects that improve sustainability in my community. As a member of Peer-to-Peer, I mentor and support fellow students, promoting inclusion and kindness within the school environment. I am also proud to be part of Sorrelles Junior Sorority, where I develop sisterhood, leadership, and service through group initiatives.

Service is an important value in my life. I volunteer at Fairmont of Farmington Hills Senior Living, where I assist residents and provide companionship. This experience has given me greater empathy, patience, and a deeper understanding of how important it is to provide quality care to people in all stages of life. It has also inspired me to pursue a career in nursing, specifically as a Trauma Registered Nurse, where I can make a direct impact during moments of urgent need.

Outside of school and volunteering, I enjoy creative and calming pursuits that keep me balanced. I love to draw, using art as a way to express myself, and I practice yoga to maintain both physical and mental wellness. These personal interests complement my academic and career goals by teaching me focus, creativity, and resilience.

Overall, my studies and experiences have shaped my determination to pursue higher education in Health Science. Enrolling in a Career Preparation Center and Health Exploration program geared toward nursing has helped me take meaningful steps toward my future. I plan to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam and gain professional experience while continuing my education in college. Ultimately, my goal is to serve as a Trauma Registered Nurse, providing care and support in critical situations while making a lasting difference in people’s lives.
