About

I grew up in a family of five; I'm the youngest of three girls. I was different from my sisters since the beginning! I was born early, while they were both born two weeks late. I have curly hair; they have board-straight hair. They took after our mother, and I took after our father. My mother has shelves upon shelves of books, while my father is more hands on and prefers to fix a problem instead of reading about how to fix it. Up until I was seven years old my father was a general contractor. He read the blue prints, he hired a construction crew, and he signed the pay checks. The thing that I always thought was amazing is that he didn't hire subcontractors. He did the building, the plumbing, and the electrical. When it came to the interior(and exterior) finishes, that's where my mother stepped in. Together they built some of the best homes in our area at the time. I can't remember a time that I wasn't on the construction site. I grew up watching my dad build these beautiful houses that people would eventually make homes and take so much pride in. I think that seeing that at a young age made me choose my current career path. I want to help people make their homes better or change it into their dream home. So many memories are made in our homes, and I want to contribute to that happiness. I want people to be proud of their houses. I want to make a difference even if it doesn't affect the entire world. Making one person happy is still making a difference, no matter how small.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I would love to run my own interior design business! I would like to focus on kitchens and bathrooms, but I'm also very interested in designing unique kids' spaces.

Graduate school interests

At the moment I am not interested in grad school, but things change. I am currently working on my associates, therefore it will be awhile before I am ready for graduate school.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy sewing, baking, and spending time with my family. I love to make things with my hands no matter what it is.
