About
Hello all! My name is Dominique DeBari and this is my story.
I graduated from Monmouth University with a Bachelor of Science in Health and the honor of magna cum laude. I then worked in an elder care dementia center for over a year. Over the course of my employment, I became certified as both a home health aide and nursing assistant. I mastered basic life support procedures and monitored patients’ physical and mental conditions by taking vital signs. Over time, I craved more responsibility and idolized the demanding work that each nurse possessed. I had heard of the difficult journey one must endure to obtain such a respectful occupation, and I was ironically captivated by it. Variation allows for growth and prosperity, and I chose to continue my education at Rutgers University to expand my opportunities in the medical field. I was privileged enough to be accepted to the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at this elite college. Advancing to a new, more demanding program has provided me with an education that I would not be able to obtain otherwise. These difficult and more thought-provoking lectures have bestowed crucial information for my future career goals and enriched me as an individual. Taking the knowledge provided by this college experience, I will soon be saving the lives of people every day. Becoming a beneficial factor in a person’s journey to obtain maximum health is my idea of a great accomplishment. Just this simple fact makes my career choice feel like less of a job and more of a passion. When both an education and a passion come together, it creates a profession, and that is exactly what I am striving for. After investing in my education, obtaining patient experience and working with medical care providers, one thing became obvious; I love caring for people.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I started my career in health care as a Certified Nursing Assistant while I attended Monmouth University. I worked in an assisted living facility and graduated with a BS in Health Science with the honor of Magna Cum Laude. I am currently perusing another BS in Nursing through Rutger's accelerated program. After completing the 15-month program and obtaining a second degree, I plan to work as a nurse in a hospital while continuing my education. My ultimate goal is to become a Physician's Assistant with high hopes of working alongside cardiologists.
- Graduate school interests
After obtaining a BS in Health Science and an accelerated BS in Nursing, I plan to achieve a Masters in Physician Assistant studies.
- Outside the classroom
I enjoy the simple things in life. Reading books, listening to music and drawing are a few of my favorite things. I also enjoy running, snowboarding and playing the piano.
