Douglas Minks

Coming from a background where most of my family members are educators, a degree is cherished and admired. Being raised in a Hispanic background, while also having the opportunity to travel to different parts of the world has provided me insight into the human condition. I understand how people from all types of backgrounds can be judged with first misconceptions but we all have shared needs as being human. I lived in Japan for six years and graduated from high school there. I have chosen to go to school to gain knowledge in something new and to change the world for the better. At the end of the day, we all want to be surrounded by love and our family and to be healthy and happy. Being a martial artist and a musician, I am accustomed to learning new material to not only expand my knowledge in my field but also to learn something new about myself and others that I work with. I find that it is important to learn and grow with each given breath of life. I was raised by a single mother. I have struggled in the past. However, perseverance, diligence, and dedication reign over trials and tribulations. With hard work and some luck, I am at the point in my life, I now feel the need to help others. I want to change where this world is headed. I hope to provide renewable energy to homes around the world and for many future generations to come. I look up to people such as Nicola Tesla, who wished that energy could be accessed by all people no matter race, ethnicity, size, or shape. I hope to help change the world through renewable energy and break the barriers that set us apart from one another.
