Dylan Busby

I am currently studying Construction Engineering with an emphasis in electrical at Iowa State University located in Ames, IA. I studies will lead to either becoming a lighting & building systems designer or a project manager for an electrical contractor. Ever since about 8th grade, I've known I always wanted to be a construction engineer. My background of growing up around the farm helped nurture my love for building things. We were constantly working on things rather it be a tractor, farm vehicles, dirtbikes, rental housed, or putting a two-room addition onto my grandpa's house, I grew up working with my hands and I loved it. My dad help steer me towards engineering and after doing some research, I decided I wanted to be the person that could walk past a building and say "I built that". I started my college career at Iowa Central Community College, with full intentions of transferring to ISU. ICCC was essential in helping me get all of my hard classes, like: calculus, physics, differential equations, engineering problems, and computer programming, completed and understand them thoroughly. By taking those courses and some other general education courses, I am able to focus and concentrate on getting a general business minor along with my bachelor's degree. My future plans include graduating and working full-time in Des Moines.
