About

Since the age of four, I’ve balanced two worlds that both demand excellence: the field and the classroom. Today, as I enter Lander University as a freshman business major and a member of the Bearcats baseball team, I continue that journey with renewed purpose. My goal is to develop both as an athlete and as a future business leader, and receiving a scholarship would directly support that mission.

Playing baseball at a competitive level has taught me more than just the mechanics of the game. It’s built my character—teaching me discipline, resilience, time management, and leadership. These same traits carry over to my academic life. Whether I’m at early morning conditioning, staying late for batting practice, or grinding through business case studies at night, I give 100% effort. I know that success, both on the field and in business, isn’t about shortcuts—it’s about preparation and persistence.

Two years ago, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It hit me hard physically and emotionally, and for a time, I lost my vision and dropped nearly 30 pounds. But I didn't quit. Instead, I leaned on my faith, rebuilt my health, and came back stronger. My experience with diabetes deepened my appreciation for life, strengthened my relationship with God, and gave me the mental toughness I now carry into every challenge. Today, my vision has returned, I’ve regained my strength, and I stand ready for the next chapter.

At Lander, I plan to focus on business and explore paths in management or entrepreneurship. Long-term, I want to build a career that combines my love for leadership with the lessons I’ve learned through adversity and sport. This scholarship would not only ease the financial burden on my family—it would also be a recognition of the hard work, values, and commitment I bring with me every day.

I am grateful for the opportunity to study, compete, and grow at Lander University. I’m ready to represent this school with pride—on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.
