It is my firm belief that success is defined by more than just a strong grade point average in High School; it is a person's drive, commitment, and passion, combined with good grades and experiences that make up a well-rounded individual. Ty Jones, the director of Harlem's classical theatre, once referenced how vital self-reflection is, which I have taken to heart; I have a good understanding of who I am as an individual. Throughout High School, I have tried to demonstrate a strong work ethic, show versatility, and develop the vision I have for my future. I am an ambitious student with unique experiences and perspectives on life. I do not shy away from challenges, and I will work overtime to ensure my success. I am a diverse individual who would thrive in an environment geared to push you to your limits. I know this to be true because I did so during my formative years while enrolled in a dual immersion program, where I learned to speak a language that nobody else in my house speaks. Not only do I speak Spanish fluently now, but I have embraced a culture that is different than my own. Additionally, I can't remember when I didn't want to go to college because it is something that my parents instilled in me from a young age. Working hard was something that my mother demonstrated when she worked a full-time job while still going to school as an adult, or my dad, as he cared for my grandmother when she was chronically ill. They've always set high standards and reminded us that we are in charge of our steering wheel. I am the perfect candidate seeking a strong foundation, which will help me create my personal blueprint and propel me to the next level.
