About

I am currently a Food Science student at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. From watching countless of food reality television series, to apprenticing as a chef in Singapore's top restaurant, starting my own food blog and being part of Cornell's Dining Services Committee, I have an immense passion in food that I am eager to share and a diverse experience in the food industry that I am always interested in expanding. From my experiences, I have formulated two specific, personal objectives relating to food that I hope to explore academically and practically: one, to create unconventional dishes that meet people's increasingly diverse gourmet demands, and two, to mitigate nutritional problems in developing countries.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am interested in working in the R&D or Product Development sector in the Food Industry. In particular, I am interested in sensory analysis and food chemistry - understanding the chemicals in food and how they affect the flavour of the final product, how they respond to various conditions, and how they change over time.

Graduate school interests

I am interested in getting a Masters Degree in either Food Science or Business.

Outside the classroom

I am interested in everything food-related - eating, cooking, watching food reality television series, visiting farms/various food factories/vegetable gardens and even just walking around food markets. Other than food, I love exploring new places, running, and going on nature adventures.
