About

I’m a hardworking and resilient student who takes pride in showing up for my school and community. I’ve spent over 730 hours working in my school’s concession stand and have been on prom committee for three years, helping create events people actually enjoy. I also volunteer every Wednesday tutoring second graders, which has been one of the most rewarding parts of my week, and I balance all of this with a steady job.

My academic journey hasn’t been perfect, but I’ve worked hard to grow and push myself, raising my GPA to a 3.69. That experience taught me a lot about perseverance and not giving up on myself. After high school, I plan to earn my Associate of Arts in Culinary Arts at Southwestern Oregon Community College and then transfer to Lane Community College to pursue a business degree. I’m motivated to keep improving and build a future I’m proud of.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I plan to keep working while I’m in my culinary arts program, saving $200 a month—a habit I’ve kept up for almost a year. After that, I want to transfer to Lane Community College to get my bachelor’s in Business Management and Hospitality, while gaining experience as a private chef.

Once I finish school, I want to use my savings to buy a food truck, fix it up, and call it “The Moose Den.” I’ll focus on hearty comfort food with allergen-friendly options, and my goal is to grow it into a successful restaurant someday.

Graduate school interests

I am interested in combining culinary arts with business and hospitality management to create inclusive, customer-focused food experiences, with the long-term goal of building a sustainable and growing culinary venture.

Outside the classroom

I love making art, writing poetry, and listening to music more than anything. I also love going on drives, exploring outside, and hanging out with my six nieces and nephews. On top of that, I enjoy giving back—tutoring kids and helping with school events is something I really care about.
