Ella Castaldo

My goal is to devise research that has the potential of pressing neurological issues that we see in humanity such as in the context of happiness, cognition, memory, performance, and both mental and physical illness. To aid me in this, I plan on taking Mental Health in a Social Context, Sociology of Creativity, and Cognitive Psychology of Music. With a better grasp on the scientific aspects of music and mindfulness, I can apply such knowledge to my studies in neuroscience and physics to bring them all together and work towards the development of an innovative health protocol that will aim towards optimizing patient’s moods, health, and physical brains through specifically designed music, mindfulness, and neurofeedback.
With the opportunity to spend my time at the University of Texas at Austin immersed in the interdisciplinary degree I have outlined, I am confident that I will become so much closer to aiding in the movement to better the lives of my fellow humans and spread mindfulness.
