About

I did not have the traditional opportunities that most were afforded. My family moved around a lot in order to find housing or so that my mother could maintain income. Despite all of this I thrived in an educational setting.

I love school. It is my passion. My teachers always took a special interest in me and ensured that I succeeded no matter what school I was at. I was student body president in Middle School. I was on A honor roll through out middle and High school. I was able to receive scholarships in high school due to my excellent academic achievement. I want to be the first in my family to obtain a higher education and ensure that our families future generations have an example to look up to.

Career goal

My career goal is to become a counselor to help the youth. By achieving this goal and obtaining my degree I will be enriching my own life as person, as well as the life's of others. If it were not for the help of my teachers in school, I do not know if I would be as educationally successful as I am now. I love school, and learning the tools to help others is exactly what I need for personal fulfillment.

As the only person in my family that is seeking and will obtain a college degree, it is crucial that I achieve my educational goals. I want to be an example to my siblings. I want to be an example to my nieces and nephews. And more importantly I want to be an example for all the minors and struggling children. I also want to make sure that my mother knows that all of her years of hard work and strife were not in vein, and that she achieved her goals of creating a better life and opportunity for me.

Graduate school interests

I want to ensure that everyone has a safe space and to accompany those who feel alone in life. I want to make sure they know what ALL of their options are. From insurance, to mental health, to a safe home environment. I want to make that happen for children. It is an integral part of childhood, and I know that I can provide that for them, if given the opportunity.
