About

I value creativity, scientific exploration, and community. I believe that language is a tool that can bring people together. In my future work, I hope to work with kids as a speech-language pathologist and help them be able to communicate with others. I want to help them build their communication skills so that they can connect with their peers and become important contributing members of their communities.

I studied Neuroscience and Environmental Studies during my undergraduate career culminating in my Senior Independent Study - "Impact of Perinatal Exposure to Polychlorinated Biphenyls and Bisphenol A on Learning and Memory in Mice" - a 1.5 year long research project which resulted in a (40+) page paper with an oral defense. I was also invited to present my project at the Midwest/Great Lakes Undergraduate Research Symposium and the Society for Neuroscience Conference for 2011.
