Emanuella Martins

My name is Emanuella Martins and I'm twenty two years old. I was originally born in Brazil and came to United States when I was twelve years old with my mother. When I first met my father I was nine years old which means me and my mother have been working really hard to get me to school. It's hard to ask my mother for help since I have a four year old sister that needs more help than I do. Throughout the 8 years that I live in the U.S I have probably moved about 7 times because of my mother's job. Every time we moved to a new home I would picture the changes that could be made around the house so it could be more functional. My mother influenced me into architecture without me even knowing. When I started putting all the pieces together such as my passion into art and math, I ended up picturing myself as being an architect one day. My career goals is to one day have my own office where I will have many clients wanting a perfect home for theirs family.

I recently moved away from home so I can achieve my dream to be a successful architect. Moving away from home means I have many bills to pay which makes it more difficult to pay for school. I originally had a scholarship at Eastern Florida State College, but I had to sacrifice my scholarship when I transferred to Broward College so that I can go to a school that will have architecture classes. Since I moved out of the house I am now on my own trying to get as many hours at work as I can take; so that I can pay off my car, house payments, and school tuition.
