About
I am currently a high school senior at Abingdon High School in Abingdon, VA. Once graduated, I will attend Bluefield College in Bluefield, VA where I plan to study Criminal Justice. Growing up in Southwest Virginia, I have loved the experience it has provided me to enjoy a simpler way of life. I am an outgoing person who loves to serve the community and being a leader. I have grown up participating in a number of events speaking in front of groups and helping those in need. I have a passion and desire to help those who may not have the opportunity to help themselves and look for ways to minister to those people. Giving back to my community is one of the most important things I can do to help my community. As I prayed for wisdom of a career path, it was between teaching and criminal justice. I love to work with inner city ministries where I have also had the opportunity to make lifelong friends and find my true passion for criminal justice. Leadership comes in many forms and I believe I am influenced by many things. My faith has been at the front of all that I do and I pray it continues to be. In addition to my faith, I believe that I try every day to be an example of Christ. Whether it is being the President of our FCA club, being a youth mentor to kids in my church and Bristol Outreach, and volunteering to help kids in youth development league, all of these are opportunities to be a leader in different ways. Sometimes, I feel as if I am always under a microscope as a Christian, a Pastor’s daughter or a leader on our basketball team, but I feel confident that God has prepared me so far and will continue to prepare me for the leadership opportunities He will bless me with in the future.
