Goals and interests

Career goal

This year I have come to the realization that the career I choose must be one that benefits and improves the lives of the disabled and less fortunate. I can see this goal taking me down the path of social work, however I hope to take my career even further by establishing my own non-profit organization.

Graduate school interests

After I graduate college I plan to get my MSW or (Masters in Social Work).

Outside the classroom

Most of all, I enjoy dancing. I have concentrated primarily on ballet, contemporary dance, as well as creative movement. Ballet has taught me incredible discipline which I value highly as a positive characteristic of mine. My dance career has led me to some amazing collaborations, as well. The aspect of my dance career that I am most proud of is the organization and creation of "Project Prima." After founding the club Ballet Viridis at the University of Vermont with my fellow co-president, I initiated a program with the help and influence of my former dance teachers. Project Prima is a weekly workshop during which our ballet club invites handicapped children and adults from the community to learn about movement and bodily expression through dance. My fellow dancers and I work one on one as well in large groups with the children and adults to expose them to a new mind and body connection that they may have been unaware that they had. The satisfaction this program has brought me is indescribable and for that I am truly grateful.
