Emily Raetzke

I attend Northern Illinois University going for my B.S in Psychology. I have three jobs through my local YMCA as a Lifeguard, Swim instructor, and a DCST swim coach. I find water safety a very important topic to address I grew up swimming and believe anyone can learn to swim. On top of becoming a school counselor I would love to continue swim coaching at whatever high school or middle school. I have a life long passion for helping people learn to swim and children find their own passions and happiness in this world. I have been involved in the community not only in increasing the awareness of water safety but, helping my local lions club with their yearly diabetes awareness and 4th of July fundraisers. I have helped out with various other events for the lions club since 8th grade and will continue doing so for as long as I live in this community. They do great work raising money for visual impaired individuals that are in a rough financial situation or a undeveloped community, to receive the proper visual care and help they need to function.
