About

I am a PhD Student at the University of Maine, School of Earth and Climate Sciences. My research interests center on combining geophysical methods and numerical modeling techniques to study subsurface processes of glacial ice. With these techniques, I aim to help answer questions about the physics of ice flow and climate records that are preserved in the deepest ice. My current focus is on alpine glaciers in Alaska and the Canadian Yukon, but my research also takes me to Antarctica.

Prior to diving into graduate work in glaciology, I received an MS in Education from Johns Hopkins University and completed a 2-year teaching commitment with Teach For America on Hawai'i Island. I have an extensive background in mountaineering and outdoor education and am passionate about engaging others in appreciation of and curiosity for the natural world.
