About

I am Emma Jokisch. I am a student at Mascoutah High School in Mascoutah, Il and I am currently enrolled in our Running Start program so I can graduate high school with my Associate of Science degree. I intend to further my education in the field of science and medicine so I can accomplish my goal of becoming a dermatologist. I decided to pursue the field of dermatology because I was diagnosed with alopecia areata when I was 11 years old. The numerous doctors who tried their best to treat my autoimmune condition inspired me to help those struggling with diseases similar to my own. Losing my hair was a turning point in my life when I learned life has so much to offer than beautiful hair. On another note, I am an avid animal lover and have been showing Missouri Foxtrotters since I was seven years old. I am currently a four time youth World Grand Champion -- the highest honor an exhibitor can achieve. My hair and horses taught me so much about my life's passion and pursuing my career towards caring for those with skin conditions.
