Goals and interests

Career goal

As a Computer Science major, I plan to become a cybersecurity specialist, focusing on protecting networks and systems from digital threats. I aim to start with entry-level IT roles and pursue certifications like CompTIA Security+ and CEH to build expertise. Long-term, I hope to work with organizations or government agencies, both in the U.S. and back home in Ghana, to strengthen cybersecurity and promote digital safety. This path allows me to combine my love for technology with my passion for making a global impact.

Graduate school interests

I am strongly interested in pursuing graduate studies in cybersecurity or information assurance after earning my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Graduate school would allow me to deepen my understanding of advanced topics such as ethical hacking, cryptography, and digital forensics. I am particularly drawn to research opportunities that explore how to protect critical systems in healthcare and government sectors.
Long-term, I hope to pursue a master’s degree in cybersecurity, preferably in a program that offers both technical training and real-world application. Graduate education will not only enhance my skills but also position me to take on leadership roles in the fight against cybercrime, especially as I aim to contribute to digital security advancements in Ghana and across Africa.

Outside the classroom

• Soccer: As the manager of the men’s soccer team, I enjoy staying active and engaging in team sports. Soccer has always been a passion, whether playing or supporting my team.
• Technology and Cybersecurity: Outside of my academic work, I love exploring new tech trends, gadgets, and learning about the latest in cybersecurity. It’s a field that excites me, and I enjoy staying up to date with how technology is shaping the future.
• Music: Music has always been a part of my life, whether listening to my favorite artists or creating my own compositions. I find it a great way to express emotions and unwind.
• Volunteering and Community Involvement: I enjoy giving back to my community, which is reflected in my involvement with the International Student Association and PTK. I find it rewarding to create spaces where students can thrive and connect.
