Erica Anne Hutchison

I am hoping to become a composer while also seeking my PhD in Musical Composition and Theory as well as Violin and Piano Performance, and possibly Musicology.

I would like to attend Fort Hays State University for Graduate School as well as Berklee's Virtual School for Graduate Studies.

I love to play all of my instruments. I can play any musical instrument. I also love listening to music of all types and learning about them and the people who create them.

I enjoy spending time talking to friends. Since Covid infected the world in 2020 I have still been in lockdown because I actually have a terminal illness called Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, and I struggle not only with heart defects but Fibromyalgia and other things. So a lot of my time is spent trying to keep myself as optimized as possible while I wait for my heart and double lung transplants. Most people ask me why I have decided to pursue school while I am so sick. I believe that it not only nourishes my soul, but my mind, and body as well. I truly believe I am setting myself up for my future both pre and post transplants. I refuse to let anything get in my way of my dream.
