About

Hello! My name is Erika Erickson and I am a junior at the University of Southern Mississippi. I am fascinated by the roles, behaviors, interactions and impacts that both marine mammals and fish species have on our environment. I am passionate about studying and understanding the importance of our ocean’s ecosystems and how they reflect everyday life. I am interested in understanding more of how humans impact the environment through pollution, overfishing, and the introduction of both plant and animal invasive species. I have experience working with living shoreline restoration; along with microplastic work through Mississippi State University Coastal Research Lab.
