Erin Arenales-randall

I am a new graduate from the proud class of 2021'. I have been through absolute hell if I may say so myself. My childhood wasn't the easiest out there. I've struggled in a very loud, ignorant, demanding, and strongly opinionated family. Mind you I stayed with my father who was the source for all the internal damage I have today. You see I have always been forced into a mental corner, to where I would have no choice but submit to others expectation of what I should be. When I chose the medical field as my major for college my parents and family members looked at me in disbelief because they doubted my capabilities by looking at others. Please read that again. They doubted my capabilities by looking at others.. We are not known for going to college to become doctors or lawyers anything on that level of education. So yes I want to be the change, I intend to set a new bar for my future children and or nephews and nieces.
What lead me to become interested into the medical field is my past immediate family situations. My most recent step mother was diagnose with lupus at the beginning of my four year high school journey. Throughout those years I took on the role of her care taker, I took on the "motherly role" she was to give me. I do not blame her for anything, I am truly grateful for being able to experience taking care of a sickly person who I grew to love dearly. it taught me patience, skill, understanding, and vulnerability.
The degree I plan to obtain caters to all those qualities I have instilled within myself. I am fully confident that I will carry out each duty set before me with exponential outcomes. I am one to always find a deeper meaning to things in life. I strive to understand any and all, because I refuse to be ignorant to the possible truths of this world.
