Winning this scholarship would let me start the school year focused on school, not on costs. With my experience, I know that expenses pile up before classes even begin, like textbooks, supplies and fees. Together they add up real stress at exactly the moment I should be focusing on studying.
I am very committed to continuing my education and receiving a certificate for ASL Interpretation. I am eager to study the foundations of deaf culture. I believe a "great candidate" requires to be driven and disciplined, with what they choose to pursue. Pursuing a whole new world that appears to be "quiet" but actually really loud with enthusiasm and passion, sounds like a community I would love to be a part of.
This scholarship would let me put energy where it belongs. Not to only "pass my classes" but to really grasp the information I am being taught.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My career goals are to become a qualified ASL interpreter and to explore more in Deaf Culture. I intend to specialize in legal settings and political events. Promoting accessibility, advancing communication barriers and to ensure Deaf and hard of hearing members to have equal access to important information, political debates, government meetings, etc.
- Graduate school interests
My graduate school interests are courtrooms, government meetings, political debates, and public events where accurate and effective communication is essential.
Through my education, my cultural understanding, skills, knowledge and professionalism, I will be able to promote accessibility and equal opportunities.- Outside the classroom
Outside the classroom, I plan to move forward with community involvement. As well as hands on experience with the Deaf community. ASL workshops, Deaf culture events and Deaf friendly assisted living facilities. With my initiative and commitment, these will help me achieve my goals.
