About

I'm a non-traditional, 25-year-old Film & Political Science student at the University of Utah. Due to my financial situation, it's really thanks to scholarships that I've been able to get an education.

My life inside and outside the classroom revolves around ethics. I've done research for international academic conferences, presenting on topics from animal welfare to human rights.
My education focuses on bettering others’ lives. In Fall 2025, I engaged in a social justice documentary class that paired with Koroot, an organization that enacts changes in adoption laws in Korea. I helped create a documentary which exposed human rights violations in Korea’s adoption system. In July 2025, I engaged in advocacy at the University of Oxford Consortium for Human Rights, where I presented in front of professors and students around the world.
My ethical orientation led me to volunteer at Liberty in North Korea, an organization that helps refugees settle in new countries. In Fall 2024, I tutored English to a North Korean refugee who escaped the country. I had years of experience tutoring children who came from affluent backgrounds, but this made me reflect on the value of education. I asked myself the following: how can I use my skills to help others’ lives?
I realize this question was behind the founding of the Yoga & Meditation club in Spring 2023. I founded and then led the club for three years. We held weekly yoga and meditation sessions on campus. Since then, I’ve realized my goal in life: to expand the boundaries of my responsibilities to improve others’ lives.
