About
I graduated from the European School in Frankfurt in 2011. Throughout my studies, I learned to speak five languages, which is very important for me since I travel a lot to enjoy diverse cultures. My desire to learn languages led me to participate in various language camps in Switzerland, Greece, France and Great Britain. I enjoy traveling and experiencing new cultures. Throughout my life, I have been fascinated by the differences in personalities and how everyone has their own idea of what they want. This has helped me learn the significance of establishing a connection between yourself and the people you work with.
I studied for economics at the University in Freiburg, Germany for one year, then continued my studies in the area of Marketing and Event Management in Bad Homburg, Germany.
I have had the opportunity to do an internship in the event planning business. I was located at a hotel, called the Thraki Palace, in Greece near Alexandroupuli, and my main task was to face organizational challenges such as dealing with expenses and costs, managing the timetable for events and coming up with creative and innovative ideas. These included the interior design of meeting places, etc. While working in different departments of an event management firm, I learned how to associate with people from various cultures and how important it is to make a good first impression.
Additionally, I engaged in voluntary work, organized by Earthwatch. This program supported the examination of urbanization in our environment. The conditions in which I worked were at the time very new to me, but I managed to adapt quickly. Working with distinct people to a project that concerns all of us, I realized how essential it is to work together as a team and, more importantly, that we are all interdependent.
I participated in the Model of European Council (MEC), which gives students the opportunity to engage in debates about various matters of importance to the EU. MEC allowed me to use my language skills as well as to advance my way of approaching people and to create sensible solutions.
I have also for several different promoting agencies. This has given me the opportunity to travel in Germany to work as a Hostess/Promoter and model.
In 2015, I interned for NEXTMODEL Management in Los Angeles and participated in voluntary work in the Banana Bungalow (Hostel) where I met interesting people and learned how to work at an office. This experience taught me about many important aspects in life. Being alone overseas in Los Angeles was very frightening at the beginning, but it was by far the best decision I have ever made.
My second internship was at The Pontes Group in Los Angeles. My tasks were to contact celebrity stylists, make appointments and organize the showroom. This Internship helped me to improve my communication skills as well as having formal and on point conversations. In addition, it taught me how to handle stressful situation as rationally as possible.
Additionally, I interned at 1Oak where I participated in Event Planning, marketing and social media. Furthermore, I took reservations; phone calls and communicated with the promoters. It definitely developed my strategic planning skills as well as interpersonal communications skills.
Voluntary work is, in my opinion, a must for everyone. For that reason, I applied to be a mentor at Imagine LA to help people in law by giving them advices on everyday life choices. Tony Robbins inspired me to apply as a mentor.
My communication studies at Santa Monica College are very helpful. Every class I attend teaches me something new, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to be able to study abroad with excellent teachers. It definitely is going to be helpful for my future jobs.
I work as an Educational Presenter at the California Science Center in Los Angeles where I have the opportunity to answer school groups, families or individuals to questions about Science to which they have always wondered about.
In my spare time, I play volleyball, do kickboxing and used to teach dance classes for children. Having a balance in life is very important to me.
Meeting new people and traveling is what inspires me. My ambition, determination and dedication to improve constantly will embellish the intense concentration that I will put onto my choice of work.
