Personal Statement:
What are my goals as a writer? This is a tricky question. The obvious answer would be to gain fame and fortune, but I don’t think you are seeking an obvious answer. As far as fame, I can live without it, but I think it is necessary to sell books. As far as fortune, I am just seeking to earn my “500 pounds” a year like Virginia Woolf :)
My main goal is to try and capture the human condition of our particular time in history. Like Homer, Dante, Shakespeare, and Steinbeck did, just to name a few.
