About

As a first generation American with African, immigrant parents my unique, cultural upbringing played a major part in the person I am today. After the Civil War in Liberia, my parents took the risk of leaving their homeland to provide a better life for my siblings and I. My strive and ambition to accomplish great things comes from my desire to make my parents proud to show appreciation for their sacrifices. I am a full time college student attending University of Toledo and currently in the process of transferring to the University of Houston. I am majoring in economics with a minor in pre-law to obtain my bachelor's degree before furthering my education in law school. My ultimate goal is to become a licensed lawyer and to open my own practice. During my time in college, I managed to average a 4.0 GPA whilst launching and managing my hair company, EyevetteHair, working an average of 22 hours at my job, HEB, and hairstyling on the side. I am extremely determined and passionate about achieving all of my goals and I will continue to work hard to accomplish them.

Outside the classroom

I have had an exceptionally, deep passion for hair health and styling for many years. This passion has led me to take the risk of starting my own online business, EyevetteHair, selling hair extensions in 2023. In addition, I am a hairstylist and I enjoy my job very much. I also take pleasure in playing the piano, reading and traveling.
