About

Hi! I am a dual language teacher in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, which in the DFW area. This is my 24th year to teach and I am super excited about the new path I have embarked upon. I love serving the children and their families at my school and church. Life has taught me that every person has a story that matters and having someone in their corner to cheer them on and to walk along side of them during their seasons of hurt and struggle is important. I feel as though this is an area that is within my gifting and passion. My educational experience is giving me the opportunity to continue my passions in new avenues outside of the classroom.

Personally, I have been married for 23 years to an amazing guy, who just happens to be a pastor, and I love our life together serving others. I am also a mom of four amazing children, ages of 21, 18, 15, and 13. Life is crazy busy, but I wouldn't trade for anything in the world! I can't wait to see the new adventures that life takes us on.

Goals and interests

Career goal

After graduating with my masters as a professional school counselor, I intend to acquire a counseling position within my school district. In addition, I will continue with my higher education and complete the course work needed to be able to take my NCE and become a Licensed Professional Counselor. My long term goal is to work in the school system as well as at the counseling center at my church.

Graduate school interests

I have found that I am passionate about helping others in multiple venues. I not only want to serve the children and their families in my school, but also desire to walk along side of people as they work through the struggles of life that overwhelm them. My graduate school experience has awake these passions and desires and driven me to continue to learn beyond my current program.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have always liked playing tennis and golf, when there is a spare moment. Recently, my family and I have loved playing games together and off-roading in my husbands old jeep. We have learned that loving and laughing together has been amazing for our relationships and the stresses that life brings.
