About

The importance of community college education became evident to me when I was forced, through factory closures in Clarke County, to return to the education arena. The quality of education that I received at the community college level renewed my hope for a career in teaching. Through hard work and dedication at Meridian Community College (MCC), I was inspired by my teachers to pursue my coveted “dream job.” In 2006, I became an adjunct (and full-time in 2007) instructor in the Business and Office Technology program, my graduated field of study at MCC.
In 2009 after receiving my Bachelor’s in Technology degree from The University of West Alabama (UWA), I was drawn to pursue my Masters in the Art of Teaching (MAT) from there as well. Not long after starting, I learned about the MAT offered through Mississippi State University that more closely represented what I am currently teaching at MCC.
My eight years of teaching at MCC have only heightened my desire to teach and excel in the community college setting.
