About

As a child, I was always attracted to the idea of helping people. I was full of empathy, compassion, and respect especially for the elderly. I grew up in a large family and was raised by a single mother. My father died from heart attack when I was just ten-years-old. My grandmother, who also resided in the home, became sick and was unable to do simple things by herself. Being the oldest sibling, at the age of ten, I began assisting my mother by caring for my younger siblings while she was at work and by assisting my grandmother with her Activities of Daily Livings, that included showering, combing her hair, and making her bed, and she was very grateful and appreciative until she died.
The experience I had with losing my father at an early age and caring for my grandmother, made me passionate about being a caregiver. I cared for the elderly in a home-care-facilities as a first job for me in America. My passion for taking care of the elderly grew more each passing day as I was employed with Sunrise Senior Living. I obtained my Certified Nursing Assistant, and Certified Home Health Aide in 2008. My clients boosted my moral of becoming a Registered Nurse someday, and to help others as I have helped them. To pursue my nursing carrier, after I began working for Vitas Hospice Healthcare in 2010 with a team of healthcare professionals, I also took pre-nursing classes to advance my nursing career. I am now at Samuel Merritt University, pursuing my dream of becoming a registered nurse.
