Goals and interests

Career goal

My future in creative writing is a multifaceted journey that intertwines my passions for storytelling across various media. I aim to explore the realms of screenwriting, short films, digital art, comic books, and podcasting while building an expansive platform through YouTube and media journalism. Aspiring to join the ranks of industry leaders like DC Comics and other renowned publishers, I am actively crafting stories that combine surrealism, dark humor, and introspection. This creative vision is reflected in my self-published anthology, Beyond the Cubicle and Other Stories, which delves into existential horror, psychological thrillers, and the strange beauty of the human condition.

As I work on perfecting my screenwriting, I am actively seeking opportunities with platforms like Netflix, Marvel, and the Star Wars franchise. Alongside this, I am continuously producing short films and animated projects that blend my love for visual storytelling with unique narrative styles. My creative portfolio, enriched by my YouTube channel, allows me to connect with audiences through engaging content that spans discussions, reviews, and original works. Media journalism and reviews are also avenues I plan to explore, offering insights into the ever-evolving landscape of creative industries.

In the long term, I envision self-publishing a collection of poetry, showcasing another dimension of my creative voice. By combining my literary aspirations with my hands-on approach to filmmaking and digital artistry, I strive to carve a space where my stories can resonate deeply with diverse audiences. My journey is fueled by a desire to create compelling worlds, inspire conversations, and leave an indelible mark on the creative world.

Outside the classroom

I am deeply passionate about the arts, particularly storytelling in its many forms. Reading and writing are integral parts of my life, allowing me to explore and create narratives that resonate with the human experience. I enjoy consuming film and television, with a focus on genres like horror, sci-fi, comedy, coming-of-age stories, family-friendly animated films, adult animation, film noir, and cinematic classics such as German Expressionism and silent films. Each of these mediums offers a unique lens through which I can study the craft of storytelling. Additionally, I enjoy creating YouTube videos and digital art with my twin daughters, merging creativity and family time into a truly special experience.

Outside my creative pursuits, I value the importance of balance in life. Longboarding has been a favorite hobby, although nearing 40, it’s becoming more of a challenge. Family time is precious to me, whether taking my daughters to the park or enjoying a movie together. At the same time, I recognize the importance of self-care and personal growth, carving out moments for meditation, enjoying music that spans genres from rock and roll to jazz, blues, punk, and funk, and continually learning both in and out of the classroom. Life is a journey, and I strive to cherish every moment, whether spent with loved ones or in reflection and self-discovery.
