About
I'm a PhD student in computer Engineering at the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville, USA) with a License (Bachelor), Maitrise (Master I), and D.E.A (Master II) in computer science, obtained from the University of Yaounde I (Cameroon) in 2005, 2006, and 2008 respectively. For my research, I'm currently working on optimizing the self-control in smart embedded devices, such as embedded cameras, autonomous driving cars, or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. I believe that embedded optimization is a promising research area that has not been widely investigated yet. Designing embedded real-time systems is nowadays a complex undertaken due to the many and sometimes conflicting objectives that must be addressed simultaneaously (high-speed, low-power, low-cost, high-quality, low latency, low-density, etc...). Additionnaly, in such systems, many critical decisions have to be taken at execution and are subject to hundred of variables or execution parameters. This requires a rigorous formalism to capture all facets of the problem and also a tractable and accurate strategy to devise an optimal solution. I have recently been investigating the design of FPGA-based smart cameras for distributed operations in camera networks and the use of boolan satisfiability (SAT) to implement control on the embedded devices.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I'd like to do more research in academia in the field of embedded optimization or hardware/software co-design of smart vision systems. I'm also interested in acquiring practical experiences by working for a cutting edge company that has a research section dedicated to the design of smart embedded systems.
