About

Freeman A. Davis III, who has always gone by Free is from Atlantic City, NJ but I now call the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area home. He served nine years as an active duty member in the United States Air Force and now serves as an Air Force Reservist. After adjusting his military commitment, the initial goal was to become a registered nurse but he fell in love with the administrative side of the healthcare arena. Freeman enjoyed having patient interactions from a clinical perspective while leaving the in-depth medical component to the experts who’d love that division. Recently returning from a deployment, he immediately jumped into the next chapter of life, which was to further his academic career. While perusing his BA in Health Care Administration (2015), Freeman obtained two Associate degrees; Criminal Justice and Public Health from the Community College of the Air Force. Finishing his Master’s in Health Care Administration in September of 2016; he is now perusing a Doctorate of Health Sciences (D.H.Sc) from A.T. Still University to secure the credentials needed for upward mobility.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Freeman’s greater experience stems from his time as a Health Educator for a health system in Northern Virginia. Responsible for a caseload of approximately 12-15 patients, he spent the last five years working directly in HIV testing, counseling, education, and prevention. Additionally, he assisted surrounding correctional facilities with the same services; providing an HIV/AIDS and STD course for inmates, correctional staff, and medical personnel. Currently he is creating and developing the business plan for the hopeful existence of his own firm where he will make available health education services for facilities and organizations that do not have direct access to the newest and streamlined information pertaining to healthcare. It will be heavily focused on preventative care and chronic illness as well as home care training for spouses, dependents, and partners who will serve as home aides for their loved ones.
