About
I was one of the fortunate ones. I spent more than 30 years living my dream as an undergraduate to cover sports for a major newspaper. Beginning in 1983, I worked in Memphis, Tennessee, before spending 30 years in the New York era, working at three different newspapers. Then the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March 2020, and I was laid off in April 2020. I decided to utilize this opportunity to go back to school and earn a Masters degree in Sports Management at the University of Southern Mississippi. Obtaining my Masters is something I’ve always wanted to do. I was lucky enough to get a job two weeks after graduating and really haven’t had the time to focus on getting a Graduate degree. Now I have that opportunity. Once I obtain my Masters I hope to explore employment possibilities as a college professor, an associate athletic director, a communications director, along with what other writing opportunities might present themselves. While pursuing my Masters, I am collaborating on my third book and also serving as a consulting producer on my first documentary.
