About

George Ygarza is a graduate student interested in radical challenges to contemporary society through subaltern concepts. He is an active organizer committed to social responsibility through community engagement and political education. George looks to merge both scholarship and activism into complementary forces for a better self and contribution to society. In graduate school George has been researching ethnic and cultural themes on liberation, social movements and understanding the affects of foreign policy on the grassroots. He hopes to continue climbing the academic ladder as he pursues a Doctorate degree in Interdisciplinary studies.
