About
My name is Gianni Voytilla. I am currently a hearing doctoral student at Gallaudet University where I seek to pursue clinical experiences and knowledge in mental health services and research in the Deaf community. To be effective in achieving these goals, I am fluent in both English and American Sign Language (ASL). As a mindfulness practitioner myself, my research interests include how is mindfulness practiced in the Deaf community and how can this knowledge be clinically applied to help mental health professionals provide mindfulness-based therapies and techniques in a culturally accessible way for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and Late Deafened clients.
