Grace Maruyama

I am a careful and hard worker, always wanting to advance myself further both academically and personally. I am the first freshman at my school to be taking precalculus as well as biology and chemistry in the same year. I succeed in all subjects with As in each class. While I am deeply interested in the sciences and maths, I am an avid lover of the arts, such as piano and dance. The drawing and painting class that I recently enrolled is by far my favorite subject. Outside of classes, I am the founder of an environmental sustainability club, where we discuss topics such as air pollution, climate change, and plastic waste. I hope to start a human rights club sophomore year as I am very invested in the subject. Presently, I am advocating for student’s better education in topics such as sexuality and gender identity as well as working to eliminate exclusivity at my school.
