About

I am a detail-oriented accounting student with an outstanding academic record. I am currently attending Texas A&M University. I achieved the Chancellor’s Scholars list for each semester at Blinn College and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I earned many achievements in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Compass Club. By choosing this profession, I hope to provide financial stability for my family. My father is our family’s sole provider so my mother could stay home to care for my severely handicapped brother. My brother Dallas was born with Dandy-Walker Syndrome. My brother cannot walk, talk, or eat by mouth, and he must be moved with a wheelchair and requires constant care. I have learned that sacrifice, hard work, and dedication along with the support of my family can help me to achieve my goals. Scholarships will aid me in achieving my goals and assisting with the extra financial ability to attend college. I am the President of the Compass Club of Texas and the Secretary of the Phi Theta Kappa chapter at Blinn College. I am also a part of the 2023 All-Texas Academic Team, which is a high achievement.

  • As the President of the Compass Club of Texas, I represented the organization at Texas District Pilot Fall Council. At this convention, I sold food and raffle tickets for donation money fundraising for the Compass Club of Texas. I also talked to the Anchor Club members of Texas about the benefits of joining Compass Club after high school and how the club’s community and volunteer activities can continue into college.

  • Went to Seawolf Park in Galveston to pick up trash on the beach with fellow PTK members. I helped lead my fellow members in picking up trash all around the rocky shore of the bay. I helped put debris such as fishing lines, hooks, rods, bottles, and various other trash inside trash bags around the beach. I also helped lift heavy rocks for my fellow members and lead them in every way I could. I assisted each trash pickup group and helped them complete the task. This was our PTK’s Earth Day volunteer project. This activity took a full day to complete. My role was as Secretary of my PTK chapter when I completed this service activity.

  • I went to the Brenham Senior Activity Center to visit with residents. I volunteered to serve food and drinks to the senior citizens and picked up the seniors' dirty plates, drinks, and meals to help clean them. This made the staff’s job a lot easier as they didn’t have to go get all the used glasses, plates, and utensils and clean them off. My role was the President of Compass Club when I completed this service activity.

  • I went to the Argent Court Assisted Living Facility to visit with residents. I represented the PTK organization, and I helped the Blinn Lions Club with their volunteer activity. I helped them pass out Thanksgiving cards and candy to the residents of the nursing home. I also visited with several residents, and I was able to make their day and Thanksgiving week better by letting them know that someone cares about them. My role was as Secretary of my PTK chapter when I completed this service activity.

  • I sent Christmas cards to elderly members of my church living in local nursing homes that are in the Brenham community. While I was in high school, I had this same service project where I sent both Birthday and Christmas cards to all the elderly members of my church. I had many people who I wrote to tell me that these cards help brighten their day. I am glad I was able to impact their lives. That is why I am continuing to do this service project even after high school.

    Dec 2020 – Dec 2022

  • I randomly volunteer at St. Matthew Lutheran Church's cemetery to trim trees and haul limbs with my father. We trim the trees and haul them to a burn pile elsewhere to landscape the cemetery at our church. It is about every one or two months when my father and I volunteer to do this.

  • I helped bring the Imagination Library Program to Brenham. I raised funds for the program as a member of the National Honor Society. As a Blinn College student, I signed up children for the program. It has impacted children under the age of five by supplying them with free books mailed to their homes each month. This program will help improve their literacy skills before they start kindergarten.
