About

Hello!
I have worked in healthcare since I was 18 years old in a variety of settings including long-term care (assisted living, nursing home, memory care, and rehabilitation centers), hospital (medical-surgical ambulatory care center), and clinics (vascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and pulmonary).
I realized early on that the more education, certifications, and qualifications I obtain, the more help and assistance I will be able to provide. I am currently enrolled in a full-time registered nursing program and working full-time in order to fund my education expenses while also continuing to independently support myself as well. Working and going to school both full-time has it's challenges which is why I am actively pursuing scholarship options available.
If awarded scholarship assistance, it would relieve a significant financial burden and allow me the opportunity to ideally shift my focus to make my education a top priority in order to become the proficient, intelligent, critical-thinking, perceptive, and lifelong learning nurse that I strive to be.

Thank you for your consideration,
Guinevere Phillips

Goals and interests

Career goal

Upon completion of the nursing program, I hope to start my registered nursing career in an acute-care setting such as the intensive care unit, progressive care unit, or emergency department. Acute-care settings will provide me the opportunity to see, and work with, patients with the widest array of different medical conditions and ability to provide vast medical treatments and care.

Graduate school interests

As mentioned earlier, after completing the registered nursing program that I am currently enrolled in, I hope to gain registered nursing experience in the acute care setting. My goal is to enroll in a baccalaureate of nursing program within 1-2 years of working as a registered nurse.

Outside the classroom

In my free time, I enjoy going on road trips, doing crafts, camping, looking at antiques, and spending time with family and friends.
