About
Hi my name is Harri Duggan and I was born and raised in Wales, where I developed a strong sense of community and a deep appreciation for helping others. In 2023, I moved to Texas, a transition that brought new challenges and opportunities. Adjusting to a new culture and environment strengthened my resilience and adaptability—qualities I believe are essential in the medical field. Throughout my life, I’ve always been drawn to science and healthcare, and my experiences in both Wales and the U.S. have only deepened my desire to become a general practitioner. I want to build lasting relationships with patients and provide them with compassionate, comprehensive care. My journey has shaped who I am today and fuels my commitment to pursuing a meaningful career in medicine.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I’ve always enjoyed helping people, which is what inspired me to pursue a career as a general practitioner. I’m drawn to the strong relationships GPs build with their patients and the opportunity to support others through a wide range of health challenges. Combining my passion for science with my desire to make a positive impact, I’m committed to the path of becoming a caring and dedicated healthcare provider.
- Graduate school interests
I am deeply interested in attending graduate school to pursue a medical degree and ultimately become a general practitioner. My desire to become a GP stems from a lifelong passion for helping others and a genuine interest in medicine and human biology. I have always been drawn to the personal, long-term relationships that general practitioners build with their patients and the role they play in supporting individuals and families through all stages of life. Being a GP requires not only medical expertise but also strong communication, empathy, and the ability to understand patients
I am particularly interested in programs that emphasize hands-on clinical experience, community involvement, and preventive care. I believe that addressing health issues early and educating patients about healthy lifestyles are key components of effective medicine. Graduate school will provide me with the foundation I need to understand complex medical concepts and apply them in real-world settings. I also look forward to being mentored by experienced physicians and working in diverse healthcare environments where I can grow both personally and professionally.
In addition to my academic interests, I value balance in life and enjoy playing soccer, which keeps me active and teaches teamwork and resilience. I believe these qualities will also serve me well in my medical career. Attending graduate school is the next essential step toward my goal of becoming a compassionate, well-rounded general practitioner who can make a positive difference in the lives of others.
- Outside the classroom
One of my main hobbies is playing soccer. I've loved the game since I was a child, and it has taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Whether I’m on the field competing or just playing for fun, soccer helps me stay active, focused, and connected with others. It’s a great way to relieve stress and keep a healthy balance between work and personal life.
