About
My name is Hugo Hernandez. I am a student at The University of Texas at El Paso, completing an associate’s degree in science and planning on transferring to med school. My educational aspirations consist of acquiring a bachelor’s degree in any biological or health science that would assist me in pursuing a medical career in Dentistry. Therefore, I think that pursuing such a career will provide me the opportunity to help improve the community's health quality conditions and learn about their dental needs. I consider myself as a persistent person that is truly motivated to be successful in my future career. I can overcome obstacles; please tell me I can’t do something because I'll try even harder to prove you wrong! Like many other students I know, I've traveled a rough road to get to where I am today, but those obstacles gave me strength and helped me appreciate the truly important things in life. Furthermore, I want to contribute back to underserved populations in the U.S. that struggle every day to sustain a family, and who do not have as much access to medical assistance as other privileged groups. Am grateful to find opportunities like the one that your foundation is providing to students like me who are constantly fighting for the right to receive an education. I remain persistent and will keep working hard until I reach my career goals. I am hopeful to become one of your foundation’s scholarship recipients, so that I can continue on my pathway to become a Dentist.

I think that hobby is important thing in our life. At the moment we have a lot of hobbies which are very modern and popular. For example photography, theater, reading, collecting marks or doing videos. It seems to me that hobby is the greatest thing in people’s life. Let’s start with my hobby. My hobby is cooking. I love to cook and experiment with some products. It’s very funny and exacting. In my opinion, a lot of people like cooking but a little people do it as a hobby, because you must have a talent. In my spare time, I love taking pictures. I have even documented many university events as part of my artistic practice. Working hand in hand with others has surely stood out to me as a passion in my life. I enjoy collaborating with others, artistically through photography and most certainly, through mentor-ship. I look forward to continuing to develop these skills and passions through this opportunity. My goal is to instill others the skills to be excellent leaders, collaborators, and citizens. This is a goal I am working toward and have learned more over time. I am enjoying giving back to the next generation in this way.
