About

My name is Ilira Black, and I am a dedicated student, aspiring cosmetologist, and passionate advocate for self-confidence and self-expression. I have always been drawn to art, fashion, and beauty, but my passion became purposeful when I witnessed the impact that hairstyling and makeup could have on someone's emotional well-being. Helping my grandmother rebuild her confidence after a traumatic accident inspired me to pursue cosmetology as a career. Since then, I have worked to strengthen my skills through hands-on experience, salon training, and serving others in my community. I believe success is measured not only by personal achievement but also by the positive impact we have on those around us. My goal is to continue my education, grow as a professional, and use my talents to help others feel confident, empowered, and valued.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am dedicated to sharing my unique vision and creative ideas with the world through my passion for cosmetology. Creativity has always been at the center of who I am, and I strive to express that through hairstyling, makeup artistry, fashion, and beauty. I am passionate about helping others feel confident, beautiful, and empowered while showcasing my artistic talents. My goal is to continue growing within the cosmetology industry, using my creativity and skills to inspire others, make a positive impact, and bring my unique sense of style and self-expression to every person I work with. Through hard work, dedication, and passion, I hope to build a successful career that allows me to turn my artistic vision into a meaningful way of serving and uplifting others.

Experience

  • Lifeguard

Working as a lifeguard at the YMCA taught me the importance of responsibility, leadership, and service. I was entrusted with the safety of swimmers of all ages, requiring me to remain alert, make quick decisions in high-pressure situations, and respond effectively to emergencies. Beyond maintaining pool safety, I built relationships with community members, encouraged safe swimming practices, and served as a positive role model for children and families. This experience strengthened my confidence, communication skills, and commitment to helping others, qualities that I continue to carry into every aspect of my education and future career.
