Illia Karbivnychyi

Hello! I'm Illia, a senior in the Early College Program studying at St. Petersburg College. After graduating high school with my AA in May 2024, I hope to pursue a bachelor's degree in computer science at the University of Florida.

I am super passionate about all things software: I have ten software certifications, worked as a Mobile App Development Intern in the summer of 2022, participated in my high school's cybersecurity club in 2021, and have created a diverse portfolio of unique programs.

I am also extremely fond of helping those around me. I serve as a math tutor for both Mathnasium students and for my cousin living in Ukraine, whose diligence inspires me to enrich his academic journey. Also, I enjoyed volunteering at two museums for a total of 109 hours between Nov 2020 and Nov 2021.

I am also huge fan of on-campus engagement: at SPC's Seminole campus, I am the Historian of the Student Government Association, a Co-founder and Editor of the Early College Newspaper, a proud member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and a participant in the Early College Club.

In the future, after attaining my college degree, I will set my sights on pursuing a career in machine learning engineering. As a machine learning engineer, my expertise in developing helpful AI models will not only contribute to a more enlightened society, but will also enable to give my loved ones in Ukraine the support that they need.
