About

I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in mental health counseling with an emphasis in trauma. My academic interests center on grief, resilience, and evidence-based therapeutic practices. Alongside my studies, I work with a child cancer association, where I support families navigating pediatric illness and bereavement. Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended career path is to become a licensed professional clinical counselor specializing in trauma and recovery, with a focus on serving survivors of human trafficking. I aim to integrate evidence-based practices with a compassionate, client-centered approach to support long-term healing, empowerment, and reintegration. I am dedicated to advocating for vulnerable populations and contributing to systems of care that promote safety, dignity, and lasting recovery.

Graduate school interests

My graduate school interests include trauma-informed counseling, grief and loss, and working with individuals who have experienced complex and chronic trauma. I am particularly drawn to research and practice focused on survivors of human trafficking and the development of interventions that support identity restoration, resilience, and reintegration. I am also interested in advocacy and improving access to mental health services for underserved populations.

Outside the classroom

Outside of my academic and professional work, I enjoy playing tennis, gardening, and engaging in creative activities such as crafting and DIY home projects. I also have a passion for creative writing and reading emotionally driven literature that explores themes of resilience, healing, and human connection.

Experience

  • Family Navigator and Thriving Together Coordinator

As a Family Navigator and support coordinator within a child cancer association, I work closely with families facing pediatric cancer to provide both practical guidance and emotional support. I help families navigate medical, financial, and community resources while also offering grief support and coping strategies during and after treatment. My role emphasizes trauma-informed care, advocacy, and empowering families to manage overwhelming and life-altering circumstances.
