About

In my future career, I plan to earn the CPA and begin in public accounting to deepen my technical foundation in audit and tax. I will volunteer with VITA to provide free tax preparation and financial literacy workshops on budgeting, credit, and business formation. Long term, I hope to open a bilingual CPA practice focused on small businesses and nonprofits, offering affordable bookkeeping, payroll, and tax services alongside community education. My vision is a practice that measures success not only by revenue but also by outcomes: clients who secure financing because their statements are clean; start-ups that survive their first three years; families who build emergency savings and improve credit scores.

Pursuing Accounting and Business Administration is, therefore, both a professional path and a promise to my child, my clients, and my community. With discipline, empathy, and the highest ethical standards, I will use this degree to expand access to trustworthy financial services and to multiply opportunities for those often left out.

Service and Leadership
I actively engage in my community through church outreach, serving on the Vestry. In this role, I coordinate supply drives and meticulously track donations to ensure transparency and maximize our impact. This experience has deepened my understanding of accountability and the importance of community support.

Skill-Building and Wellness
To balance my responsibilities as a parent, student, and worker, I use time-blocking and digital tools like Notion and Trello. These strategies help me manage my time effectively and maintain productivity.

Creative and Restorative Activities
In my downtime, I enjoy baking with my child, where we not only create delicious treats but also explore recipe costing to compare homemade versus store-bought options. Daily walks provide a refreshing break, helping me manage stress and maintain my energy for studying. Additionally, I enjoy solving logic puzzles and crosswords, which sharpen my attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

As a single mom, my hobbies revolve around caring for my home as well and nurturing my one-year-old daughter. I prioritize maintaining an organized household through cleaning, meal planning, and establishing simple routines that foster our well-being. Each day, I prepare nutritious meals for her, read board books aloud, and rotate her toys to ensure that playtime is both engaging and educational. We also share moments of reading the Bible together, which ground our days in gratitude and impart gentle lessons. During her nap times, I dedicate myself to applying for scholarships and researching educational opportunities, treating this as a weekly goal that I track and celebrate. These habits of organization, consistency, and intentional caregiving not only renew my energy for school but also enhance my time-management skills and reinforce my commitment to pursuing a career in accounting.
