About
Hello, I am Jake Azzaro and I am from Palm Beach County, Florida. In school my favorite subject is math. I have maxed out my school's math program and Dual enrolled Calculus 3 to get further advanced. Furthermore. I have a weighted GPA of 5.3 and am ranked top 10 in my graduating class. I think I have been able to achieve all of this because of my intrinsic motivation. I am motivated because I like seeing improvement within myself and showing people around me that you can achieve hard things.
Outside of the classroom I enjoy community involvement. My involvements that I am most proud of are Mu Alpha Theta and National Honor Society in my school. In Mu Alpha Theta I am a tutor, meaning I spend my lunches during the week tutoring students in my school in lower level math classes all the way to calculus 1. I love this because I get to watch them get better grades and confidence over time and I can spread my love for math. In the National Honor Society I am the head of fundraising which means I am spreading awareness and getting sponsorships to donate to Nicklaus Children's Hospital. This year we raised over $75,000 and donated it all to children in need.
In the fall of this year I will be attending Georgia Institute of Technology on path for a Mechanical Engineering degree and possibly a minor in Aerospace Engineering. I am looking for financial aid through scholarships because out-of -state tuition is very expensive (50k a year) and my family needs help to afford this school. Any amount helps, thank you!

Goals and interests
- Career goal
After college I would ideally have graduated with a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and possibly a minor in Aerospace Engineering. With these skills I want to work at Lockheed Martin, a military defense company that is contracted by the government. I want to work here because after I took a field trip to their facility I saw that their work is truly hands on and problem solving, which has always interested me. I also want to make a difference in this work and better the lives of American people which can be done through this company as they work to keep America safe.
- Graduate school interests
After graduating from college I plan to begin job searching instantly and hopefully getting a professional job at an engineering firm. While at the firm I want to go back to school to get my graduates degree which will allow me to work up the ranks in the company.
- Outside the classroom
Outside of school I love to better myself by working out and running. I love the challenge and linear progression that can physically be seen which gives motivation.
