Goals and interests

Career goal

I intend to major in Biomedical Sciences (with a possible double major in Mathematics) and minor in Spanish. I will use my degrees and experiences to pursue a career as a veterinary surgeon.

Graduate school interests

After undergraduate, I will attend a graduate school to obtain a doctorate in veterinary medicine.

Outside the classroom

In my spare time, I love expressing myself creatively by either writing, creating graphic designs, cooking, baking, or sewing. I also love literature (whether it be classic or modern), so I love delving into a good book.

Volunteering

  • As a member of the National English Honor Society, I was given the opportunity to volunteer my time to complete community service hours. Thus, I often volunteered to create and present slides at member meetings, discuss book analyses and recommendations, tutor students with English homework, and create videos and slide presentations for the NEHS resource website.

  • As a volunteer, I assisted potential adopters (which primarily involved retrieving animals from kennels and answering questions). I also performed more behind-the-scenes duties as well. I was entrusted with socializing, cleaning, and feeding dogs and cats, while also assisting other volunteers with cleaning animal kennels and food bowls.
