About

I am a first year undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. My major is sociology with a focus in child endangerment with a minor in Spanish. With this degree, I aspire to attend law school in order to become a child advocate attorney. I was born in Pittsburgh, PA but lived majority of my adolescence in Aurora, IL. My mother is a social worker and my father is an attorney. Since I've always had a strong compassion for children, I combined the two of their occupations and chose my aspired occupation. At UNC-CH, I voluntarily tutor elementary school children at Hargraves Community Center in Chapel Hill, NC through an organization called HYPE Tutoring. This student lead organization not only gives me interaction with underprivileged children, but increases my ties to the Chapel Hill community. Along with this organization, I am apart of Mock Trial at my university. I did Mock Trial for two years in high school and have continued it with Carolina Mock Trial. Through this club, I am able to gain insight to world of law as well as court etiquette and regulations. My life long aspiration is to help those who do not have the means to help themselves yet possess the desire to. Therefore, I have shaped my lifestyle and activities in order to put myself in a position to accomplish my dream.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I aspire to be a child advocate attorney. With my future degree in sociology and spanish, I wish to use this to better understand the world and connect with a larger population with my abilities in Spanish. Eventually, I wish to work in conjunction with Child Protective Services in order to obtain the best outcome for the children possible.

Graduate school interests

I plan on attending law school after graduating from UNC-CH. I would like to attend a law school somewhere in North Carolina because this is where I intend on practicing after I graduate from law school.

Outside the classroom

My family has always been extremely invested and interested in sports. With my dad playing football all the way through college and me playing soccer for 14 years, we have a strong desire and love for sports. I enjoy not only watching various sports but participating in them as well. Also, I enjoy spending time with my extended family. I love helping children succeed in their various endeavors in what ever way I can (academic, musical, athletic).
